The Wait

Apparently I won't be able to buy the Hung Up video for a bit.

1984 Year of the iPod

While bored and surfing around google video, I stumbled across Apple's classic 1984 ad based on the novel of the same name. It was filmed around 1984, obviously, to show that Apple would be changing things in 1984. They changed a lot more than the way people look at computers. As you can see they created the worlds best-selling digital juke-box in that year. Funny how it took a good 15 years for the exercise spandex wearing, mallet tossing, iPod listening look to catch on.
Boo ya!

Cellular Speculation

I'm pretty sure my mom just bought this phone for me. I got an email from Cingular today saying my phone was upgraded. My sister told me just a few minutes ago that my mom bought me a silver and navy Motorola flip phone. This seems to fit the bill. Yay! I'll be connected to the world once again by Monday at the latest.

EDIT: Turns out the winner is this phone:

Woot.

Newy Pictures of the Week

Maggie at the lappy.
Evenin' sky.
Guess I was in a pensive mood.
Creepy old O'Connell House on the day of the first snow storm.
I found this behind O'Connell last weekend. I couldn't resist taking it's picture.

I'll have nobody toy with my comfort and joy

Bat Boy opened today! Quite a few mayhems in the back stage but everyone loved the show so I'm happy. We'll have to clean up some set changed for tomorrow but I'm happy with the show. The best part is that after the adreneline rush of finishing the show, I start my job demoing apple products on campus. I get paid to play with iPods and stuff! Crazy shit, huh?

This is my new favorite picture of me. I wouldn't ususally just post something like this on its own but I was really excited about this one. It doesn't work very well as a facebook picture since it's horizonal and all that, but I used it annyway. PS, I don't like that facebook's new photo upload applet doesn't work with either Firefox or OS X. I haven't figured out which it is, but considering my roommate has his up it's probably Firefox. Which, again, pisses me off. I'll have to look around for the right extension to make it work.

I have a calc exam tomorrow I haven't started studying for. I should probably get to that now. I'm not even going to bother with my history reading assignment that's some 150 pages long.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Taken 10.29.05, two days before Hallyween. A fucking blizzard. Forecast for tomorrow? 65. Effing craziest town I've ever lived in.

Private(r) high school

Effective immediately, and over student complaints, the teens were told to dismantle their Myspace.com accounts or similar sites with personal profiles and blogs. Defy the order and face suspension, students were told.
I could kinda understand the reason for doing that to Myspace, but I still disagree entirely with an outright ban on it and blogging. There's no way I could respect this rule. In fact, I'd probably write a few nasty blog entries about it and get expelled to a public school.

Touch me, Bat Boy

Batboy The Musical is happening! November 3 through 5 at Robsham theater! I just wanted a reason to post that picture.

Alerting terrorists for year!

This video is quite amusing. Note also that he's using a Mac, albeit an outdated model. Anyway it's the story of the guy who came up with our color-coded terror alert system. He's a nice guy.

What's a hoe?

Apparently not too different from a rake.

Kama Sutra by Bush

From the quiz's answer page:
It's shocking, but all of the "answers" below are being taught as fact to American teens thanks to President Bush's federally-funded abstinence-only programs...
3. Fifty percent of gay teens are what?
B: Infected with HIV. (Middle School FACTS [112-113])
Oh shit. Either me or my roommate has AIDS. I'll go have us get tested and execute the offending party. Thanks Prezzie Bush!

Oh and I found this to be just as useful:
Women who want to keep a partner should do what? B: Never ever never act too smart.
Any ladies out there with man-trouble, drop out of college or high school (or grade school if you still can) and you'll be on the same road to romantic success as Britney. She's been married to the same guy for, what, 9 months now? That's 8 months and 29 days longer than her last marriage! Success!

How to kill me

This is the scariest thing I've ever heard of.
A woman went to her doctor complaining of headaches - and was told there was a spider living her ear.
I would have put a shotgun to my ear if my doctor told me that. Oh my god, every time I get an ear itch for the next month I'm gonna start screaming about spiders.

Yay for more therapy.
