24 Hours of the Half Hour News Hour

Ho. Lee. Shit. Fox is going crazy. Apparently Bill-O couldn't cut into Jon Stewart's ratings so now the Fox News Crew is trying to compete! The Half Hour News Hour is being advertised as "the Daily Show for conservatives." It's being produced by the creator of everyone's favorite over-
the-top drama, 24. It looks like it's going to be just what he says it will; a horrible rip off of a good show. The promo for the show reveals nothing except for the fact that Fox News is finally being honest about the people they'd love to see deported. What I am still a little confused by is the fact that it's being aired not on Fox, but on the Fox News Channel. Can they accurately call themselves a news channel now that they're offering entertainment in addition to their news? I guess they could argue that's never stopped them before. Anyway, here's the bland aforementioned promo which reveals little to nothing about what the show will actually look like.

P&T: Holier than Thou

Wow. This is the most shocking episode of P&T I've ever seen. Who would have thought that Mother Theresa was a sadistic witch who kept millions of people in poverty and suffering so she could be spiritually enlightened? It gets better. The president of the Catholic League (saving the world from non-catholics by slapping their arcane "morals" on the rest of us) admits that she did so and that doing so was admirable. That's freakier than opus dei's masochism. I guess really that's the catholic church's biggest flaw: they focus way too much on the crucifixion of that silly old jew (anyone see the Passion?) and human suffering as a means of spiritual enlightenement. Thanks, catholics, but I'm not going to spend one lifetime in misery so I can (hopefully!) have a reasonably not-shitty afterlife.

Anyway, watch the show. I won't spoil the sinister sides of Ghandi or the Dalai or The Man Worshiped By the Gaggle of Post-Menopause Housewives.

OMG OMG OMG Craig McCracken's blog. I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am. Enjoy for yourself. Craig McCracken did the art for Dexter's Lab and Powerpuff Girls. He also wrote and produced the Powerpuff Girls. Now he's directing his own show, Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. Ridiculously amusing in a Saturday morning cartoon kinda way.
